McCaskill expects a farm bill vote that goes around Rubio

Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill says a farm bill vote could come as early as today in spite of Senator Rubio’s threat to block further farm bill amendments unless a proposal to ban taxpayer dollars from being spend on businesses owned by the Cuban military is approved. She tells Brownfield Ag News, “He HAS gummed up the works and we’re going to try to vote on a number of amendments. If I had to guess or die right now, I would assume that we would move to a vote on the farm bill WITHOUT doing all the amendments.”

McCaskill says she supports increased trade with Cuba that has been stymied by the Trump administration, “As far as I’m concerned, I’m going to be spending some time this weekend down in the Bootheel with some of our rice producers.
